35 DAYS OF GURMUKHI
#35DaysofGurmukhi is a type of project that spans over 35 days, and celebrates the Gurmukhi script,
one akhar at a time. It invites creative individuals to express their personal interpretation of the
Gurmukhi letterforms of the Punjabi script. 2021 marked the second edition of this challenge for which
I aimed to go with combining circles and round-cornered squares as the base for the form of letters.
The outcome is EKAM - a Gurmukhi WIP typeface.
GURMUKHI - Script of those guided by The Guru
In India, Gurmukhi is the standard writing script for the Punjabi language, language belonging to the state of Punjab. The original Sikh scriptures and most of the historic Sikh literature, including the Guru Granth Sahib is been written in the Gurmukhi script.
